matkishimoto's farewell address to the nation...

1/31/2007

farewellGood evening, my fellow Xangans. First, I would like to express my gratitude to the internet, and wonderful people at Xanga, Inc. for creating this community and a place for me to express my feelings and thoughts over the past several years.

As of today, after two and a half years of faithful service to Xanga, I shall lay down my responsibilities of entertaining people with ridiculous entries, and even more ridiculous drawings on Microsoft Paint. As tradition follows, the authority of my Xanga-ship shall be vested in another.

This is not a decision that was made quickly. Nor was this decision made without thinking it through carefully weighing the pros and cons on a chart made via Paint. Today is my last day here at Quest Software, Inc. and so my initial intention of creating this site was to first entertain me while at work, and secondly to entertain others while they are at work. Who knows what the future has in store for me, but I know that I will not be able to keep up with lengthy posts and extensive drawings at whatever fine place of business decides to hire me. If I can find a job with 1/10 the amount of free time I had at this job, then I will resume posting. But as of now, it will all cease.

This day, I come to you with several last thoughts...

  • bscotteProps are a labor of love. They are warranted when a post is worthy of it. Never take them or your subscribers for granted. I've learned that the eProp brings joy to everyone. Everybody likes to be acknowledged. Even more than being acknowledged, is being told that you did a good job. Since I have become so accustomed to checking my subscriptions, I will still be giving them out every so often..... to those people I like.
  • Xanga is a place to entertain. As much as people might disagree, people like to come to Xanga to read about their friends' lives, funny stories, and interesting topics of media. I don't imagine people logging to read descriptions of how you just broke up with your boyfriend, or how you got into a fight with your parents. The best Xangas out there are the ones that don't write about these things. Those topics of conversation are better saved for a private email, a phone call with a close friend..... or myspace.
  • I hope I go down in the books analogous to Byron Scott..... except for the really short shorts. Not the greatest on his team, not even close. Didn't really break any records, or blow anybody's mind. But rather was known for those short spurts of greatness, those huge dunks, those clutch shots in the late 80's. Eventually to come back later and help out other people with drawings, possibly guest appearances, and random lookalikes.
  • If you want to collaborate on an entry, don't hesitate to ask. I guarantee a collabo will produce 30+ eprops. Guarantee. That's a powerful word my friends.
  • Thank you to everyone who ever gave me an eprop or ever subscribed to me. That honestly made my day......for that day.
  • To those that comment on my site that I've never met: at first I thought it was weird having random people comment and then talking to you on AIM, but it's actually a lot cooler than I thought. Someday I will call together a great Xanga reunion. I will be Peter Petrelli, and you will all be the heroes.

This is completely random. I've had these pictures for a while waiting to use them on a good post, but I could never find the right time. So I want to do a little test. Try to look at these pictures for longer than 10 seconds without laughing.

Ready?

hilarious
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Arnie!!!

Now you had to laugh at this one. There's no way you could not laugh at this picture. Even if you don't laugh at Mr. Miyagi in the middle(which is a 1/100,000 chance happening), that ginormous samoan girl in the back is hilarious! hahahaha

miyagisan

Oh man.... I've seen these pictures everyday on my computer and I still laugh at them everytime.

The following are xanga entry ideas I never got around to producing...

-advantages of being an asian male
-souplantation: the most overrated restaurant of all time
-homies 101(this probably would've been a three or four part series culminating in advanced homies)
-oc culture part 3: the lingo
-what guys are looking for in a girl(sorry mel, i really meant to write this one)
-the man card
-real life sitcoms
-inventions to make the world a better place

I'd like to ask you people out there.... what was your favorite memory of my xanga?

Someone once told me to always end things with a quote. If someone has already said something best, why try and change it?

report cards: lakers midway season report

 reportcard
i still do not understand takashima. why would anyone want to keep taking those pictures?!?!?!

it's about halfway through the season, and it seems as though espn has done their midway season awards, so i figured i'd grade the lakers on one of the most unexpected seasons in a while after their first 44 games. these grades are for what the players have already done and not what is to be expected for the rest of the season. so it wouldn't be fun just to give them a A-F grade, so let's compare them to cars also. shall we?

  • top of the line(A+ thru A-)

enzo
jealous? yeah i know you are.

kobe bryant ( A ) - ferrari enzo
obviously there's no surprise here. we all know how good this guy is no matter how much you might hate him. even coaches that all hate his cocky attitude admit he's the best in the league. and that could also be said about the enzo. last year he pretty much had to take over the entire team and score 35 points per game. now that he's taken more of a backseat along with his nonstop dominance on the floor, what do the naysayers say now? you can see it's less one on one for him and more about winning. and that's why the lakers have surprised everyone and their mom with how good their doing.

65mustang

phil jackson ( A ) - 1965 ford mustang
it's a classic. what can you say? the triangle has been around longer than any current nba player has. and it still works every time. the guy's done an amazing job thus far. everyone's been on phil's jock a bit too much since he's only been surrounded with the BY FAR best players as a coach, but now with only two big stars and a bunch of mychal thompson's and antoine carr's, he's showing why he might go down as better than red auerbach.

ghostriding

lamar odom ( A- ) - nascar racing car
lamar is one of those unique players that can take anybody inside or out, guard anywhere from the pg all the way to the 4 spot. before his injury this season, he was putting up all star numbers, finally making laker fans proud to have him on the team, and and for that, he is rewarded with a racing car that rivals some of the fastest cars in the world. but why a nascar you ask? that's because he and the car alike can only go left.

  • surprisingly nice ride

G35

andrew bynum ( B+ ) - infinity G35
i don't think anyone expected him to really be this good this early. just like the G35. when it came out a couple years ago, no one thought that the american skyline would be this freaking popular. bynum isn't phenomenal yet, needs a lot of development on his game, figure out how not to get into foul trouble so early all the time among other things. but for being this big and young, he's developed a nice soft touch around the hoop, decent defense against some of the best centers and has got a nice free throw shot......... and like bynum, the G35 is really nice.

dang what a gangster sled.

jordan farmar ( B ) - honda civic hybrid
getting farmar this year was exactly like getting a civic. no one was excited. in fact majority of people(myself included) were downright disappointed in getting this. people were mumbling about how our last like 8 draft picks(devean, cook, sasha, von wafer, kareem rush, madsen to name a few) have been such skubala. and this year was no different. but once farmar started playing, and we saw he could knock down those floaters he hit at ucla, keep up with most point guards, and hit a shot once in a while, everyone started to back off and say "hey, maybe he isn't so bad". and that's just what it's like when you get a hybrid. after you overlook the fact that it's a civic, you say, wait a meeeneeeeet..... i'm actually getting 50 mpg.

  • gets you from point A to B

enterprise

ronny turiaf ( C++/B- ) - enterprise rent-a-car
ronny is everything i love about the role-player on the team. he does anything you ask of him. the frenchy has become mr. reliable. if you've watched the lakers this season, this guy always comes in half way through the first quarter and fires up the rest of the team. wouldn't you get fired up if you played with snaggletooth?

vipar

vladimir radmanovic ( C+/C ) - dodge viper
you might be thinking, no way mat! no way is vlad a viper!! for how much this thing costs and how crappy it is, yes it's not worth the value and a perfect analogy. as satisfactory as vlad is, we did not need kobe and vlade and phil going over to vlad's house to drink tea with him and beg him to sign with the lakers. especially when his D is that bad.

camry

luke walton ( C+ ) - toyota camry
luke embodies the camry. there are ZERO surprises with the camry...... unless you get keyed.....or a rear view mirror smashed off..... or keyed again. hahaa brent. anyways with a camry you know what you're getting. a reliable car, decent gas mileage, and it won't break down right away. just like luke. earlier in the season luke might've gotten a sweeter ride, but for now, he's back to his first two seasons in the L. just coming off the bench, scoring a couple, getting everyone to yell LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE every time he touches the rock, and manages to look a little less freakish. the fact that he was knocking down tre's earlier this year and playing some pretty solid D makes luke a pretty nice player to keep for the long haul.

  • broken down crap

ghostridngthehotdog
ghost ride the weiner!!!!

aaron mckie ( F ) - oscar meyer mobile
i think this is actually defaming the good name of oscar mayer. can anyone tell me why this clown was signed? what's the purpose?!?!?! in the time we've signed this over-the-hill, not good, never was good, never going to be good, ugly guy, he's played a total of 15 games, and only ONE this year! hahahaha this boggles my mind. attention lakers. sign me. i won't cost as much to sign, and i won't hurt the team as much! i'll gladly take the league minimum......which is a couple hundred thousand a year.

chrismihm

chris mihm ( F ) - a pink scooter
that's exactly what chris mihm is.

here's the enitre of the lakers' report card including those that aren't updated with a car. so what do you give the team?

  • kwame brown - B
  • kobe bryant - A
  • andrew bynum - B+
  • brian cook - C+
  • maurice evans - C+
  • jordan farmar - B
  • aaron mckie - F
  • chris mihm - F
  • lamar odom - A-
  • smush parker - C+
  • vladamir radmanovic - C+/C
  • ronny turiaf - C++/B-
  • sasha vujacic - C-
  • luke walton - C+
  • shammond williams - D+
  • phil jackson - A

overall - B

where are they now?

waldofaldo
we're not talking about people like this. but close.

there are times in life when someone captures our attention, and we are mesmerized by everything they do. there are those that change the world, and then there are those that can be found under "awesomeness" in the dictionary.

the following people we have not seen or heard from in from ten to twenty years. and so i've done some research and found that they still lead their lives of greatness...

  • jlawrencejohnny lawrence

"put him in a body bag", "i'll tell you when he's had enough", "no sensei!!".... and countless other quotes that made you want to put a bracelet around your forehead and let your bangs hang over it. but have you wondered what happened mr. lawrence and the rest of cobra kai? or maybe have you ever wondered if there was a rematch after johnny got punked like a little girl from the crane kick. then look no further. i have found johnny lawrence.

check it out here.

i am so happy that one of the greatest quotes in movie history got turned into a song. if only there can be a song about the knucklepuck, or jamaican bobsledding, or even building a telescope for a girl who's about to die, then this world would be complete.

  • tom "iceman" kazansky

not only iceman, but i was wondering what happened to the entire flight class of top gun 1984. did pete "maverick" mitchell and "charlie" teach together? was there ever a funeral for goose? or did it just end with maverick throwing his dog tags into the ocean? if only iceman wasn't balding.....*sigh*

YOU'RE DANGEROUS!!!!!

  • zangief and/or dhalsim

zangief is like the big dumb guy you'd always pick on at school, but could never catch you and beat you up cuz he was too slow. and dhalsim? well he just seems like what would happen if mohinder suresh and mr. fantastic had a child.

boogers are like play-doh...

they're extremely fun to play and roll around in your hand, but not good to eat.

boogarso i was talking with my friend this past weekend about boogers. i was mentioning that recently i've been having the hugest boogers ever. i mean this has been going on for about a month now. i've been trying to figure out why. they're a little bit bigger than the picture on the right. they're those huge kind. the kind where you feel satisfied that that amount of mucus was able to form in your nose and you could extract it. don't call me gross and make that face at your computer screen. you know you've done it. and if you haven't, then it's comparable to when you get an A on a test when you didn't study at all the night before. it's like a great surprise that you know you didn't earn!

so back to that conversation with my friend. they were telling that the normal way to pick is to wrap a tissue around your finger and then pick. but i said that the normal way to do it is to just straight pick. i mean when you got a fatty boogie, you gotta pick it, no? well please, insight me o people of xanga. what do you do? do you waste time with using a tissue for a mere booger? maybe i don't use a tissue because my finger barely fits in my nostril already...... and that's my pinky i'm using.

oh and i bet you're all wondering who i've selected to draw a post for. i've selected...... <drum roll>........ <bigger drum roll>....
